Overview
San Juan and Friends is a personal travel film built from moments captured during a trip to Puerto Rico. The project is intentionally simple: handheld footage, small memories, and typography that moves like it belongs inside the footage instead of sitting on top of it.
The main experiment is the type treatment. Words stretch, melt, and settle into soft liquid forms, creating a looser visual language for place names, captions, and small emotional beats throughout the edit.

Typography
Explored a soft liquid text style for travel memories.
The typography uses rounded, gooey forms that feel more like motion sketches than polished title cards. Each word becomes a small animated mark, carrying the feeling of the clip without overpowering the footage.
Film
Kept the edit personal, loose, and image-led.
The film is built around quick fragments: airport moments, blurred palm trees, friends, nights out, and small in-between scenes. The structure stays minimal so the typography can act as the primary design system.
Motion
Used motion as texture instead of decoration.
The animation direction is restrained: short appearances, soft morphs, and small distortions that echo the imperfect movement of phone footage. The goal is to make each title feel tactile, casual, and alive.
A small film study focused on feeling, type, and motion restraint.
This project gives the portfolio a quieter personal piece: less campaign strategy, more motion experimentation, visual rhythm, and a clear point of view around typography in film.
